  Anubis Bride

  (Alien Egyptian Gods)

Free For Joining My Mail List

Ancient Egypt… The first Gisa Pyramid was being built when God Anubis decided to visit the planet to check on it. For centuries, he and his family had been guiding the Egyptians towards a life style so far unknown to those living on the small blue planet.

But this time, his visit hid a special motif.

Aneksi tried to feel as excited as all the rest of the girls in town for the emissary’s visit. She wasn’t as convinced as everybody else of the god’s power or even their will to protect her people. She had seen too many injustices, too many unforgivable acts that made her doubt about the god’s existence.

Despite her disbelief, she was summoned to become the emissary’s company and though she wished she could say no, her people’s tradition wouldn’t let her to. But that wouldn’t have stopped her, if she actually hated the man… another force, one she couldn’t even explain or describe was the one making her say yes…

Passion and desire had been rushing through her whole body ever since she had laid her eyes on him, and she couldn’t wait to see where that would take her…

  Chapter One

Ethan looked at his client and nodded. They had been offered deals like this before, but not one as generous as this one. Accepting it would mean being able to finally leave Earth and establish their base on whatever planet they wished.

Life on Earth was getting worse by the hour and all those with enough credits were doing their best to leave and get established on a human-friendly planet.

His company did that for people. They looked around and found a planet where their clients could move to. It wasn’t an easy task since most planets known by mankind had inhospitable atmospheres, but he and his men had been able to find a few.

“Indulge my curiosity, why don’t you consider one of the planets we’ve already explored?” he asked his client, leaning back in his chair.

Ever since he had known Gyeon was ready to leave, he had been after him. Ethan wanted to be the one providing him with what he needed.

“Those planets already have human settlements, right?” Gyeon asked, leaning forward and entangling his fingers over the table. “I don’t want that. That’s the main reason I’m still here on Earth. I want to be the first human on the planet I choose, I want to be the one starting the settlement and making the rules,” he explained, with a devious grin.

Ethan knew very well who the man was, and he also knew he had made most of his credits selling weapons to both sides in the world war that destroyed the planet. Kawan Gyeon was a ruthless businessman, and Ethan knew he had no scruples when it came to business, but he wouldn’t turn down this deal. In fact, he had been after it for some time. He owed his men a chance like this one, and he would do all in his power to get it.

“Do you have anything in mind?” he asked, nodding, not a bit surprised by the man’s words.

“No, not really. Just find me a peaceful planet. I’m done with wars,” the man said, with a cynical grin on his face, while he pushed his black hair from his forehead. “And since I’m in a bit of a hurry, I want all your men on this. You have four vessels, right?”

Ethan nodded, furrowing his dark eyebrows. “Yes, I do.”

“Then, I want all of them working on this assignment. Of course, I’ll pay the same for every vessel, no matter who finds the perfect place first. I’ll even pay half of it in advance,” Gyeon offered.

“How many people will be traveling with you?”

“All of my family, my men and their families and a few other people. Estimate at least a thousand people. I’m already negotiating a cruiser vessel to transport all of us, with the Cetians. I heard they have the best on this side of the galaxy.”

Ethan agreed. He had seen some of those vessels. They were pretty similar to the ships that had once navigated the Earth’s seas.

“I’ll also need you and your people to escort us to whatever place you find for us. I heard pirates are getting greedy, these days,” added Gyeon.

“That’s right,” Ethan had had a few hassles with some of them. “Why haven’t you ever gathered your own crew?” Ethan asked, curiously.

Gyeon shrugged. “I guess I was too busy with business to worry about such details. Besides, I always say it’s better to leave some jobs to the experts. Exploring the universe on my own would take more time than I have,” he admitted.

Gyeon was right, of course. “Very well. When do you want us to leave?” queried Ethan.

“Is now a good time for you?” the Korean man asked, with a slick grin, as he got up from his chair in front of Ethan’s desk. “Perhaps, I haven’t made enough emphasis on the word urgent,” he added, pulling his communication device from his pocket and displaying an image for Ethan.

The man had already transferred the credits he had offered to the company’s bank account. “You were very sure of yourself,” Ethan grumbled, looking at Gyeon, with a scowl.

“I wouldn’t be where I am if I wasn’t able to read people, Mr. Hunter. Despite what all people think, my real business is people. Knowing people, and knowing what they want is the real secret of my success,” Gyeon assured him, walking towards the door. “I hope to hear from you as soon as possible.”

Ethan jumped out of his chair and walked to the door to see the other man out. Two of Gyeon’s men were right outside, waiting for their boss.

Ethan shook hands with the other man and watched him leave his offices. Samantha, his assistant, jumped out of her seat and walked right to where he was standing.

“Well? What happened?” she asked, wriggling her hands, impatient.

He smiled but didn’t answer her question. “Please, call all of my men for an urgent meeting. I want them all at the conference room in thirty minutes.”

Samantha jumped cheerfully. “I knew it,” she clapped her hands. “They are all here, waiting, just in case,” she confessed.

Ethan shook his head, amused. He should have known. Samantha was the best assistant he had ever had, but she had a way too loose tongue. “Call them to the conference room. I’ll meet them in a few minutes,” he ordered,
as he returned to his office and shut the door behind him.

He walked towards the huge window that looked out over the devastated city that was once a thriving metropolis and let out a deep sigh. No one had bothered reconstructing the city after the wars. People struggled to survive amid the city ruins, more concerned with finding food and clean water than anything else.

Some of the buildings still stood, like the one they had their office in, but most of them had been burned to the ground, and others were concrete skeletons, threatening to quiver and fall.

As a cyborg, Ethan had fought in every battle he had been called up to. It was his duty, and cyborgs seldom evaded their duty, despite their personal opinion on what was going on around them. When the war was over, he found himself with very little to do. He had been discharged from the army, and many cyborgs like him were left on their own.

All they knew was fighting. They had been created to fight, and their whole lives had revolved around the fight. When there was nothing else to fight for, many good cyborgs had ended up losing it and turning to the dark side of life. Others had joined whatever army that would take them, and others had simply given up.

Back then, the last thing Ethan wanted was to fight in another meaningless war. When people started looking for ways to leave the destroyed planet, he used all the credits he owned to buy himself a vessel to start taking people off the planet, after making sure their destination was safe and welcoming.

That had been two years ago. After a couple of months, Ethan had dragged into his business a few cyborg friends he had made along the way. Now they were on the verge of making the business, the biggest success of their lives. If all went well, they would be able to establish their business somewhere else.

There wasn’t much left on Earth, and the planet was slowly dying.

The door to his office slammed against the wall as Kenyon entered the room too excited to knock.

“Spit it out! Are we on with Gyeon?” he asked, striding the distance between them.

Though as a cyborg, Ethan was a big man, Kenyon was a lot bigger than him. His friend and only partner that wasn’t a cyborg was an outcast Asloran, and his presence usually overwhelmed most of the people around.

“I’ve summoned a meeting in the conference room. I’m sure you can wait a few more minutes,” Ethan said, in a mocking tone.

“We’re all there waiting for you,” Kenyon informed him, scowling.

“Let’s go then,” he accepted, gesturing at his friend to precede him. His whole team was gathered in the room, making it look a lot smaller than it really was. “Is everyone here?” he asked Samantha.

“Yes. We’ve been here all morning,” Jaffar, one of his captains said, scowling.

Ethan chuckled. “So I’ve been told.” He took a seat at the head of the table and looked at his men. “We have the deal.” His men cheered, excited. “But, we need to leave today.”

“Who are you sending on this mission?” Kenyon asked, clearly eager to be one of the chosen ones.

“We’re all going. Gyeon wants all our vessels out there looking for the perfect place for him and his people,” he explained. “But we need to leave today. Do you think you can be ready?” he asked his commanders.

“I’m more than ready,” Kenyon assured him.

“Me too. My vessel can leave as soon as you tell us to,” Jaffar, replied as well.

“What about you, Gideon?” Ethan asked his other commander.

“I’m ready too. Just give the order,” the man assured him.

The rest of the crews mumbled their approval.

“Very well. You have two hours to get your things and get ready for departure. Samantha, you’ll be here with Jonas, managing business. We should be reachable most of the time, but I trust you to handle everything as you usually do,” he said, pulling out his communication device and sending instructions to all his commanders. “I’ve just sent you instructions on what our client is looking for,” he explained, getting up. “I’ll meet you all in the docking bay in two hours. Don’t be late,” he ordered.

His men nodded, and Ethan went back to his office. He had a few things to do in his office before he had to leave. Samantha followed him, closing the door behind her.

  Chapter Two

“You’re not leaving me behind this time, Ethan,” she ranted. “You know I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this one,” she continued, closing the distance between them and poking his chest with her index finger.

“I need you here, Samantha,” he said, with a stern tone.

“No, you don’t. I’ve been training Jonathan and Phoebe for this, and they are more than capable of doing the job. Heck, they are probably better than me. Besides, Jonas will be here as well to assist them in case they need help,” she retorted, determined to get what she wanted. “I need this, Ethan and you know it,” she insisted.

Ethan looked at the small brunette in front of him. In her mid-twenties, Samantha was a lovely girl, with a sensuous, voluptuous body, that some would call chubby. Her best feature was certainly her dark chocolate eyes that despite all she had seen and gone through still shined vivaciously with hope.

She had been asking Ethan to go on one of his exploratory trips for a while now. She had no family left, and Ethan knew once she left the planet, she wouldn’t come back, and selfishly, he had been postponing that moment. Samantha had been with him ever since the beginning, and he didn’t want to lose her, but he knew he couldn’t stall her any longer.

“Are you sure of this?” he asked, with a deep sigh.

“Of course, I’m sure. I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time,” she assured him.

He ran his long fingers through his dark hair. “Very well, then. You can come with us.”

Letting out a loud cry of happiness, she threw herself into his arms and hugged him as tight as possible. “Thank you, thank you,” she said, resting her head on his broad chest.

“You’re welcome. Are you coming with Kenyon or with me?” he asked when she finally stepped out. He knew Samantha was the fierce warrior’s best friend.

“I’ll go with Kenyon this time. He has a few promises to keep,” she replied, with a naughty grin.

“I’m sure he does. Just be careful and stay out of trouble,” he warned her, smiling.

“Trouble, me? I’m a sweet angel,” she protested, but they both knew trouble was her middle name. She hugged him one last time. “Thank you. You have no idea how much this means to me,” she said, wiping a tear that rolled down her cheek.

He caressed her silky cheek. “Oh, but I do, little one. I was just not ready to let you go. You know you’re the family I never had,” he confessed, kissing her forehead.

She nodded, smiling. “I’ll run home to pick up my things. Kenyon won’t wait for me,” she said, walking towards the door.

“You know him better than anyone,” Ethan chuckled.

When she finally left, he went back to the preparations for his trip. He hadn’t left the planet in over six months, but it would be interesting spending some time on his vessel and testing the new engines he had installed. They were supposed to travel nine times the speed of light, and he couldn’t wait to try it. It would allow him to visit a quadrant he hadn’t been to before, and the idea excited him like few things did these days.

“Boss, are you ready?” Jared one of his crewmen asked, knocking on his open office door.

Ethan raised his eyes from the screen he had been studying. “Is it time already?” he asked, a bit surprised. He had been so focused on his work that the time had flown.

“Yes, we’re all ready to leave.”

He picked up his communication device and walked to the small cabinet on the other side of the room, pulling a small bag from it. He had it packed all the time. “Let’s go then.”

After giving Jonathan and Phoebe some last-minute instructions, they finally left the building and headed to the docking bay where his vessels were housed.

; Each of his teams was composed of ten crewmembers, but this time Kenyon would be taking an extra passenger. His friend and commander seemed happy with the news.

“I’ll put her to work to pay for her trip, don’t worry,” he assured Ethan, with a naughty grin.

“I’m sure you will,” Ethan smiled. “Just make sure she stays out of trouble,” he warned him.

  “I will.”

  “Did you receive your instructions?”

“Yes, we’re all set to go.”

“Perfect. Keep in touch as much as you can,” he sent the same message to all the vessels, and a few minutes later, they were taking off, ready for another adventure.

At the main control room, Ethan watched their ascent through the planet’s atmosphere, missing the way Earth used to look. One couldn’t call it the blue planet anymore. The wars had destroyed the oceans, and all you could see was the thick layer of mud and destruction. The oceans were now a huge, heinous swamp, where nothing could live.

“I’ll never get used to that sight,” Conrad, his main pilot said, shaking his head, as he too, looked out the huge windshield of the control room.

Ethan sighed. “Me neither. Perhaps, we’ll be lucky enough to find another blue planet on this trip.”

“There has to be a few more, somewhere out there,” Conrad agreed.

“Our job is to find them,” he stated, jumping out of his chair. “Set course to the fourth quadrant as planned, Conrad. Wait until we’ve passed the moon’s orbit to activate warp 9. It should take us just a few days to get there,” he ordered, as he walked out of the room. “I’ll be in my quarters if you need me.”

“Yes, sir,” the man nodded, fully focused on his main screen.

In his quarters, Ethan sat at the small desk secured to the wall and connected himself with his office back on Earth. It was the first time Jonathan and Phoebe were left in charge of everything, and he wanted to be sure everything was alright.
